What you will do

  • Develop and maintain a robust library of test cases for both new and existing features.

  • Design, automate and maintain regression test suites on an ongoing basis — Speakap changes frequently and rapidly.

  • Work with QA Tech Lead to identify gaps in QA process and come up with solutions to improve QA process and test framework

  • Be a reliable, friendly, and non-judgmental source of early feedback on new functionality and feature changes.

  • Work with developers to isolate and reproduce defects across all parts of the system.

  • Work with product development teams to define quality criteria and test cases for new features.

  • Help educate developers in QA and maintain a healthy quality-oriented mindset.

  • Perform exploratory testing, and occasional manual regression testing in order to find defects that have slipped through automated tests, and to identify gaps in the system.

  • Work with the Software Engineers to identify and address gaps in testing coverage.

Who you’ll be working with

  • You’ll be part of a team that’s central to the stability, quality, and evolution of all our applications. On a daily basis you’ll be in contact with the QA lead to refine your short-term goals, and collaborate on current tasks. You’ll also often communicate with developers, leads and product owners in various teams in order to help them with test automation, defects, decisions on quality criteria and test cases, and various other things.

Job requirements

What we expect from you

  • Strong experience with test automation tooling such as Cypress, Selenium and Appium - preferably Cypress or another javascript-based automation tool.

  • Strong experience with coding, and programming languages like Javascript or Java.

  • Good understanding of best practices in test automation.

  • Experience with CI tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI or similar.

  • Experience using web services.

  • Comfortable working with Unix environments.

  • Experience working with Docker (Compose).

  • Experience working with Git.

  • Experience using mobile development tools Xcode, Android Studio, Charles Proxy, etc.

  • Experience with testing of native clients on desktop & mobile platforms (Android or iOS) utilizing both physical devices and running on simulators/emulators.

  • Knowledge and understanding of APIs, testing APIs and authentication protocols such as OAuth.

  • Comfortable working with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence

  • You can write code in at least one language to gather data from web services and use it for your own purposes.

  • Willingness to write tests with mobile native testing frameworks, like Espresso and XCTest, as well as native languages, like Kotlin and Swift.

  • You understand web services, including transport (primarily HTTP), common data formats (JSON), and standard API patterns (e.g. REST).

  • Experience with test management tools like Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, ALM QC etc.
